MARK NEWSTETTER GUITAR LESSONS
I offer one-on-one lessons at reasonable rates. Beginning students learn the basics of theory, technique and fingerboard navigation. Starting with simple chords and rhythms, then adding melodic and harmonic ideas, you'll make rapid progress toward your musical goals. A six or ten lesson series also includes my textbook 'Fretography' - a $16 value - at no extra cost.
More advanced students further develop their understanding of improvisation, composition and accompaniment by studying such things as chord inversions, contrary motion, hybrid picking styles and more.

FINGERBOARD DIAGRAMS
The diagrams listed below certain patterns essential to many musical styles. These patterns and more are included in the materials I provide to students along with my 88 page book, a PDF excerpt of which is available below.
INTERVALS
Parallel Thirds Scales are a sequence of intervals - two notes, three scale degrees apart, played together.
The 'Thirds Paths' diagram illustrates the arrangement of 3rds intervals across the entire fretboard in C natural.

CHORDS
Chords are three or more notes played together. The fundamental chord form is the Triad. Every major key has three major triads native to the key, based on the 1st, 4th and 5th scale degree.
